A simple piece of wood, given a little room to breathe.
These custom ceiling lights were designed by a dear friend and built by Maughan Made from solid walnut. The clean, architectural form houses four recessed lights while a precise ¼-inch reveal between the walnut and the ceiling creates the impression that the fixture is floating just below the surface.
The warmth and natural character of the walnut, as well as heavily rounded corners, soften the clean geometry, creating a piece that feels equally at home as lighting and as furniture.
This was a one-off commission, built specifically to the designer's vision.
