A little bit of cabinetry. A little bit of alchemy.
Designed by Valkyrie Woodwork and Design, I built this custom whiskey cabinet while I was working there for the collector who wants something considerably more interesting than a place to keep their bottles.
The exterior combines rich teak veneer with painted white doors and drawer fronts that wrap around the sides of the cabinet. Across those doors and drawers, an engraved tree branch travels from one surface to the next, becoming the defining detail of the piece.
The branch was finished in silver leaf and patina, producing a wonderfully unpredictable metallic surface—at times bright, at times dark, with subtle shifts in colour and depth that make the engraving feel almost alive.
Behind the doors, maple bottle racks and solid brass rails provide dedicated homes for bottles and glassware, turning the interior into its own carefully composed display.
Cap it all off with custom teak pulls and a Solid teak base.
For the whiskey enthusiast, the ritual is part of the pleasure. This cabinet was designed to make that ritual a little more special.
